Information about the cookies and local storage technologies used by Archivo Bélico, what they are for and how users can manage them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files downloaded to a user's device when visiting certain pages; they allow information about browsing to be stored and retrieved.
2. Storage used on this site
Strictly necessary — "ab-cookie-consent" (local storage, kept until cleared): records whether you accepted or rejected internal measurement so you are not asked again. Exempt from consent under Article 22.2 LSSI-CE.
Strictly necessary — "mil-admin-session" (local storage, removed on sign-out or expiry): keeps the private administration session open. It is only created for the person managing the site, never for a reader.
Internal measurement, consent required — "visita:<path>" (session storage, removed when the tab is closed): prevents the same page from being counted twice in one visit. Alongside it, an aggregate page-view count is sent to the site's own server, with no personal identifiers, no profiling and no sharing with third parties. It is only activated if you accept in the cookie notice.
Third parties: none. Typefaces and other resources are served from the site's own domain, with no connection to Google Fonts or other external services when a page loads. No advertising, social media, cross-site tracking or commercial profiling cookies are used. Should any be added in future, this policy will be updated and prior consent requested.
3. Legal basis and consent
On a first visit the site shows a cookie notice with two equally prominent options, "Accept" and "Reject", in line with the criteria of the Spanish Data Protection Agency. Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is activated before you choose.
Strictly necessary technical storage relies on Article 22.2 LSSI-CE. Internal page-view measurement is activated only with your consent and may be withdrawn at any time without affecting access to the content.
4. How to change your choice or disable storage
You can change your decision at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer: the notice reappears and you can accept or reject again.
You can also allow, block or delete cookies and local storage from your browser settings, under the privacy or browsing data section of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or Opera. Blocking technical storage does not prevent reading the site's content.
5. Updates
This policy may be updated whenever the cookies used change; periodic review is recommended.
